Experience I have spent much of my life working with the public.I taught 8 years in the Dayton Public Schools.Followed by 27 years as a Gifted/Talented Programs Coordinator for Preble County. I am currently a substitute in Preble County. I served on the New Lebanon Board of Education for 20 years. I am currently in my 11th year on the Montgomery County ESC board. I have been a Site Interpreter at Sunwatch Archaeological Park for the past 6 years. I still enjoy working with the public and today's students.

We are excited at the Montgomery County ESC to have a renovation project taking place at the no longer needed Northridge High School. Northridge has opened their new facility and the ESC is making a 7 million dollar investment to offer more classroom space in their previous building. This will allow the ESC to greatly expand services and offer resources to our member districts currently working with us.
The Montgomery County ESC houses a State Support Team that works with the under performing districts. This team is an extention of service from the Ohio Department of Education. We offer services and advice to the level of acceptance from the districts that request it.
The ESC has offered programs to address current needs in our school districts we serve. We have responded to address the needs of our autistic students. We have offered staff development and curriculum consulting. We have offered staff training for safety concerns by making available Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evacuate (ALICE) training to address confrontation with a shooter. The Business Advisory Council has been well received and serves as a model for the state of Ohio.
We have had limitations in space to offer our programs to a broader base of demand. We are excited and look forward to our partnership with the Northridge School District to meet our needs. The renovation project at Learning Center North with help guide our future growth and meet our needs to serve our 16 county school districts.
There is a group offering of staff development to our 16 county schools collectively. We may offer training specific to any given school district or building as the need and situation warrants. The Montgomery County ESC is well respected and known for its services throughout the state. The ESC is known for offering quality programming at a cost effective manner to our area schools.
The greatest improvement we can offer in the future is to renovate the previous Northridge High School to add additional classroom space. We will have a new Learning Center North to house some of our students from the East and West Learning Centers. This will allow additional options for career awareness and technology training.
The Montgomery County ESC is one of the most innovative and dynamic ESC's in Ohio. We currently offer services to 90 school districts in 14 counties. The Montgomery County ESC is known to offer quality services at cost effective pricing!

We have several successful services that our administrative staff provides to over 90 school districts and 14 surrounding counties. The services I would like to expand is our National Social and Emotional Learning curriculum, along with Special Job Training Skills. Also I would like to support more staff and upgrade our facilities to support these services.
I feel our ESC Leadership provides opportunities for all our districts to assist in their needs. ESC cannot control our school districts success or poor academic results.
I feel ESC has a great team of administrators, staff, teachers and facilities who serve our special students. Our leadership team is hard working and experienced who support all our school districts. I am very proud and supportive of our team.
Montgomery County school District’s are finding that we have a lot more special needs students. Our current facilities cannot keep up with the need and more local districts need to support the increasing demand. Our ESC is in the process of adding more quality classrooms at our north facility (old Northridge high school) to open August 2020.

I feel our current ESC staff provides quality leadership training seminars throughout each school year. I would suggest providing a variety of dates for our training opportunities to allow more districts staff to take advantage of all these training seminars.
I feel we can improve our east and west facilities for our special needs students classrooms with quality and qualified staff and teachers (retirement and staff reassignment). This would help us to continue to meet the needs of our ever-changing student base. We provide quality facilities and upmost safety for our students and staff.
I feel our administrators provide quality marketing tools to serve our 90+ school districts in our surrounding 14 counties. Our ESC has an updated web site and several superintendent and treasurer meetings to help the communication for all school districts.
