Our most immediate problem facing Clayton is the tornado that devastated so much of our community. Clayton government worked tirelessly to help those in need and to keep our infrastructure functioning. We now are addressing the costs to our community, damage to our parks and costs incurred by our City.
Our long term issues are being addressed by a strategic plan to increase economic development in a manner that continues to promote our blend of rural and city living. Clayton is a relatively young City, and as such, presents both opportunities for growth as well as the financial issues involved with growth.
Over the past several years we have developed a strategic plan to address the many issues facing our growth. We are also faced with a growing budget and difficult issues on how to fund government and still be good stewards of tax payers money. .We are constantly looking for ways to save money and to increase our tax base through economic development.
For over 40 years I have been a problem solver. It has been my job as an attorney and every board on which I have served. Serving on the Board of Trustees of Miami University has provided me with valuable experience dealing with financial issues and priorities.. During the past 5 years I have served on Clayton Council we have experienced a variety of issues. I have learned much about the complexity of city government and feel confident that I can continue to put my experience to use for the benefit of our City.
infra structure and population centers attract jobs. We are focused on continuing to develop a very extensive infra structure. We also are attempting to attract residential centers that will be attractive to young families. With the help of the County, Clayton was successful in attracting Catepiller to our community. We have developed a strategic plan to make Clayton more inviting to future employers.
Clayton is already one of the safest Cities in Ohio due to the hard work put in by our Police and Fire departments. We must maintain that above all else. We also have been aggressively fixing roads and curbs in Clayton to make our infrastructure stronger. We continue to seek grants for projects throughout our City such as the one used to build the walking path from Northmont to the YMCA. We are also aggressively working on our city parks and have created a Park Commission several years ago to make our parks better. I will continue to support our Police ad Fire services and promote our parks and improved infra structure..
Serving on Clayton Council for the past 5 years has been my honor. We are not partisan on our Council. All of our members work together with one thought in mind; Clayton First. We treat each other with respect and listen to those that come before us. I respectfully request your vote to stay on this great government body and continue to serve Clayton.
