As the fiscal officer I will be tasked to oversee and safeguard the township funds while working with the trustees to advise them if the monies are being spent wisely and in the best interest of the residents. The final decision on the spending of the money is the responsibility of the trustees. I have a proven track record from my years of experience in both the private and public sectors on being fiscally conservative and prudent with money. I will work to “$ Keep the GREEN in the BLACK $”
Budgeting - Just as you wouldn’t spend your whole check at home without putting something into savings for a rainy day, I do not believe the Township should operate any differently. What happens if you have a major purchase and have nothing in savings to help offset it, the same can be said about the Township’s finances. We do not want to get into a place where we have to either pass a levy or lay off employees. We have to ALWAYS be focused on the future, not just tomorrow but 10, 15, 30 years from now. “$ Keep the GREEN in the BLACK $”
Experience - Experience - Experience 16 years Experience as a township trustee. 3 years Experience in county government administration. 34 years Experience in the private sector from safety manager to business office manager. When it comes to safeguarding taxpayer money Experience Matters!! “$ Keep the GREEN in the BLACK $”

I have cost savings in my background working in the private sector for 14+ years. I have plans to brainstorm and obtain best practices from similar sized townships in our area. I also would like to challenge each department for savings, and help them find areas where savings could be obtained.
The biggest challenges facing the township from a Fiscal Officer perspective is the transparency and understanding of the township budget and how we are performing to budget. I would take it upon myself to not only present the finances at the township meetings, but then also take the time to explain what is driving the results. There is much that can be learned about a township when we have open discussion regarding the spending.
I do not have a political background, but I find that to be an asset for this position. I have the financial background and can come in with a fresh set of eyes and an open perspective on the township. I can bring ideas to the table that maybe haven't been considered. I am able to voice my concerns and opinion in an open and discussion like manner - earning the trust of the trustees.
I am a lifelong resident of the township and my father, Joe Walker, currently serves as a trustee. His passion for the position and the township has led me to run for the Fiscal Officer. I am active in my community, with my two children enrolled in the Little Miami School District. I also support Myles Ahead Animal Sanctuary in Maineville as a puppy foster. I love my community and would love to serve as your Fiscal Officer!
